I have worked three positions at Caterpillar. The first job was as a regression tester for Caterpillar Electronic Technician (June 2006 – August 2006, intern). Caterpillar Electronic Technician is the software suite that dealers purchase that allows them to connect to Caterpillar equipment and diagnose any issues and the status of the equipment. The job also included using the TestComplete suite of the software to create automated regression tests with Visual Basic.

The second position at Caterpillar was as a Web Developer (June 2007 – February 2009, intern). All web applications were made internally so unfortunately I am unable to direct you with any links to view the systems I was working on. The position included time spent using Web Content Management and taxonomy in developing personal websites for different groups’ within Caterpillar. These pages highlighted what the groups did, contacts in the groups, what products the groupsí developed for internal usage, and other information that would be pertinent to the group. The position also included learning Coldfusion and developing applications for Caterpillar, including being the lead developer for the R&E Priorization Tool which allowed Caterpillar to track and prioritize research costs and allow them to respond to the recent recession by controlling their biggest internal costs. I also was a Storage Administrator and worked with HR in orientations that could include up to 130 people.

The third position at Caterpillar was as a User Interface Designer for Web Applications (June 2010 – August 2010, 3 month contract). I developed a front-end gateway for the Applications that the group maintained and supported. This included developing a layout, user interaction demos and research, developing an icon set for the applications, and bringing it altogether in Adobe Flex/Flash Builder.
